Novated lease package: Your rego
You can include your vehicle registration with your novated lease package for maximum cost effective convenience.
One great perk with a novated lease is the ability to include your rego. There are a few things you need to know, and the process varies slightly depending on whether you got a new car or a used car with your lease.
As you’re the car owner, the rego renewal notice will always be sent directly to you around one month before the expiry date (this can vary by state). If you’ve changed your address, it’s worth checking with your state’s registration authority that they have the correct address on file.
What to do if you got a new car with your lease
With a new car, your first 12 months of rego is usually included in the vehicle's “drive away price”. Around 11 months after your lease commences, you’ll receive a renewal notice. Once you’ve received the renewal, you have two options:
Send us a copy of the renewal two weeks prior to the due date and we’ll pay the relevant authority directly for you; or
Pay it yourself and request a reimbursement from us for the amount paid.
If you got a used car with your lease
If your novated lease is for a pre-loved car and the registration is due for renewal within the first few months of your lease, it’s likely that you won’t have accrued sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the renewal. If this is the case, you’ll need to cover the upfront cost, however we will reimburse you for this cost once your account has accrued sufficient funds. Get in touch and we’ll let you know your account position and the best way to handle your registration.
